It has been said that history isn’t written
by
those who were in the right;
but
by those who are left, after the battles;
Filtered
by scribes of the conquerors
or
so it has been in the world
before
the current frenetic age
when
everyone has a microphone, a stage,
a
platform, a forum for spreading
opinions
as facts, alternate views be damned.
Today,
a greater variety of voices
contradictory,
contrary speakers yelling
each
telling a different, a competing truth
spread
equally around the world
in
mere milliseconds, an instant,
about
war, about struggle, about the acts,
the
commissions, the omissions,
of
nation states, of rogue groups,
wherever
they may be resident.
Each
one being catalogued,
accumulated
for the telling
far
more democratic, nuanced,
a
Rorschach test splattered
thrown
on the screens, the page,
the
news cycle, 24X7, not sleeping,
a
relentless cacophony, chaos,
the
history of this age, unscripted
uncontrolled
by the victors anymore.
