Reigniting the Heart-Light
Pray
for the Spirits Leading…
A
reading of part of the epistle … the second letter… Paul wrote to the church in
Corinth
Chapter
4, verses 6-11…Listen to what God was saying to the church in Corinth as well
as all for us in this day and age…
2 Corinthians 4:6-11 The Voice (VOICE)

The God who spoke light into existence, saying, “Let light shine from the
darkness,” is the very One who sets our hearts ablaze to shed light on the
knowledge of God’s glory revealed in the face of Jesus, the Anointed One.
7
But this beautiful treasure is contained in us—cracked pots made of earth and
clay—so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as
coming from God and not from us. 8 We are cracked and chipped from our
afflictions on all sides, but we are not crushed by them. We are bewildered at
times, but we do not give in to despair. 9 We are persecuted, but we have not
been abandoned. We have been knocked down, but we are not destroyed. 10 We
always carry around in our bodies the reality of the brutal death and suffering
of Jesus. As a result, His resurrection life rises and reveals its wondrous
power in our bodies as well. 11 For while we live, we are constantly handed
over to death on account of Jesus so that His life may be revealed even in our
mortal bodies of flesh.
We have embarked on our journey into the
desert places. We have asked for the “Healing Rain” to fall upon not only
the land in which we are going but also in our own lives so that we may be
filled to overflowing and be poured out onto a desolate, arid land. We are “Armed
and Dangerous” … with the Armor of God…ready to face the perils of this
land in which we are planting…looking for…sprouts of hope…of joy…of peace…and
of love. In order to be who we are called to be…we have to be willing to “Share
and Share Alike” … knowing that
Jesus is clear that we are called to do as His light bearers in the world. He
was sent to free the captives of oppression…captives of this world…captives of
sin…we too are sent as He was…
But
we can get tired at times. Sometimes we just want a break but feel if we do
then we are slackers…we are not full in with Jesus. So, we push to the point of
exhaustion…we rest those who we are called to help because they are just
wearing us out. The scripture from this morning talks about the light of God
being within us but we just are too tired to shine for the kingdom…
The
Word states…:

Now
I don’t know about you but sometimes this cracked pot needs to do something for
the light within me gets dulled by he world and all it has in store for those
who follow Christ.
So,
what are we to do? Now I am reaching this
to myself too this morning…practice what you preach Pastor Ruth…Jesus went
away to be alone with God. Jesus was Rejuvenated and Revived by spending time
being fed by the Spirit from God…Bead of Heaven…Living Water…that sustained Him
to go further. If our lights are to shine bright…we have to go away and be
rejuvenated by the only One who can satisfy our soul.
In
order to have victory in the desert places we need a time of rest.
Remember…when Jesus was tired and hungry satan came and tempted Him. He stood
on the word of God…we too will be tempted as we begin to tire. It is then that
we need to realize we are in need of some One on one time with God so tat we
can be reignited and glow from our heart light. It is much like this heart here
on the altar. Now it is dull and listless. Nothing special about it. But when
the light within is turned on… (turn on light), it is illuminated and
beautiful… This is how we must enter into the battle field…with that inner
light shining… We are the vessels that God uses…not perfect but cracked so that
He can shine ever more brightly…
Beloved
are you feeling a little dull and listless? Has that spark sort of gone from a
burning bush to smoldering ashes? I implore you to reignite your Heart-Light…
Spend some time with the Light of the World and as you do so…let His light set
afire the light within… In order to tend a new creation within us, we focus
less on rules, and more about what gives us life and light as a way of
“Sabbath-making!” This, then is the way we are refreshed and renewed so that
the light of Christ can be reignited and shine within us. What practices of Sabbath
will we engage in that will refresh our spirits?
