Already in pain, suffering
in body and spirit
off track, separated,
outside of our love.

Already in the ditch
bleeding, broken
the bus off the rails
chaos, commotion.

Already hurting, bleeding
so many cast out
not viewed as neighbors,
stranger, different from us.
