bands of plum, of amethysts - v4

feeling a need to go, to see,

stepping outside to look

the sky, off in the distance,

beyond the wires, the lot, the woods,

a combination of warm and cool colors

caught between day and night

the broad brushstrokes

bands of plum, of amethysts,

magenta, dusty rose

and wisps of smoke,

written, layered together

to see, to drink

a whisper across the heavens

fading colors of the sunset

the dying of the light

after sunset, second sunset,

a time of twilight before darkness

the full blooming of night
