I find no joy in the work

I find no joy in the work
in my constant toil, my struggle,
seeking to make something of
the compromises I have chosen.
 
Too often hating what I do
but only going deeper,
losing more of myself
in the paths I have chosen.

My worth, value, and meaning has always been in my career, my jobs,

even when I have hated them. When I have struggled, I have thrown myself

at my job to try to make it work, to succeed, rather than walking away.
