I am but a sheep

I am but a sheep
and the Lord is surely my shepherd;
I join David in his fervent prayer,
breathing his covenant with God.
 
I am but a sheep
a fearful member of the flock;
I struggle to be faithful, willful,
to trust fully in the sovereignty of God.
 
I am but a sheep
but God provides for me fully,
all my needs and wants, my desires;
I am safe in God's loving arms.
