Perfectly shattered - v2

A gift from the sea, broken treasure,
as if a bolt of lightning passed through them
disturbing their atoms, their essence,
the essential nature of them,
cracked beyond repair.
 
Perfectly shattered,
cracked but held together,
the shells wrapped in paper
perched on my cluttered desktop
waiting to be revealed.
