these crumbs are not nearly enough

These crumbs are not nearly enough,
but another path remains uncertain;
gripped by responsibility, obligation,
fearing change, the unknown,
stuck in a rut, a trap,
of his own choosing…
 
Wanting so much more than this reality
this moment, this position, these walls;
a dream unrealized, aging,
not dimmed but waiting
longing to turn, to strive,
to walk ever more boldly…
