Speaking her dreams

Conquering her reserve, her reticence,
a smile forming on her young face,
talking about her future, a promise,
what will come to pass.
 
Encouraged from her shell,
her loved ones’ coaxing, wooing her,
to share her aspirations,
speaking her dreams of calling,
 
of her purpose, meaningful work,
to change the world, hope,
to defeat the scourge of cancer,
the blight upon our lives.
