A different #palette

A different palette, not primary colors,
Those on the color wheel only…
Painting something more important,
Colors of history, of nostalgia, of memory,
From our perspective, our collective ethos.
 
Delicately brushed on the canvas,
Capturing a moment, perfection…
Affixing more than their features,
Something of the power, the gravitas,
Willing the colors to become permanent,
Capturing light in a bottle, alive.
 
Our heroes, a different moment,
Our country’s history, our youth,
What we would wish it to be,
Drawn from the palette, a wooing,
A willing of the images to come alive…
