Too long have I been broken

Too long have I been broken,
Unsure of my direction, my purpose,
Feeling certain that I am on the wrong path,
But not knowing how to change,
Anxiety, depression, worry the chains I carry,
Wanting to have meaning in my life, a calling,
to find love in this life, hope in my dreams…
 
Too long have I been broken,
Choosing to follow, to bend my will,
To set down my hopes, my dreams, trapped,
Soldiering on, ever, head down, eyes forward,
Not seeing what I have lost, what I didn’t choose,
Lost in the world, on a path not my own, wandering,
Unsure of anything, within my spirit, my soul…
