#Christ quoted scripture

Christ didn’t just paraphrase,
Speaking about commandments,
Christ quoted scripture,
Word for word, precisely,
The ancient words in the Law,
Speaking with authority,
With power in this moment…
 
Their questions were turned around,
This was a challenge, an indictment,
Against their failure, their sin,
The experts on the Law, the Torah,
The Tanakh standing before Him,
Challenging Him to answer,
Challenging God to His face...
