steeped in nostalgia,
ancient times of glory,
a song, a lament,
for one who suffers,
you one too who sings,
for his country, his supper
an orphan dwelling
one with the land…
communing with nature
one the steppes with the Creator,
a foreigner, a stranger,
the last Kobzar, a minstrel,
still singing for his people
bound to the land,
singing their folksongs,
until his days are done…
