In Ukrainian (in Aramaic) – v2

In Ukrainian, in the vernacular,
In the language of his people
Not the words of the oppressors,
boldly speaking in his native tongue…
 
The same with Jesus, our Savior,
speaking in the vernacular, Aramaic,
the language of his people, the Jews,
not the words of the empire, of Rome…
 
Equally subversive, radical, intimate,
but for his own people, so authentic,
not the revolutionaries, planted,
the tares with the wheat…
 
So too now, in truth, in Russia,
those who speak of freedom,
do they see the hypocrisy,
of their nation state…
