the drum beats louder – v2

their timpani rising, growing,
storm brewing, building,
ready for the crescendo,
the catharsis to come…
 
their drum beats louder,
within the walls of his prison,
a vial of poison, a dagger,
whatever it takes…
 
his firm grip on power,
becoming an illusion,
a tide rising higher, faster,
judgement is close at hand…
 
the drum beats louder, growing,
whispers of his demons,
the Devil too soon draws him,
to his eternal torment…
 
he does not know the time,
but his days are numbered,
his end will come quickly,
from a friend, from within…

The stain of innocent blood – v5

This poem is about the character Pontius Pilate in the novel, Master and Margarita,
by Mikhail Bulgakov, where Pilate is spending eternity, not in heaven or hell,
but trying to wash the innocent blood Jesus Christ from his hands.
This poem is transferring that same nightmarish judgment on Vladimir Putin
for the innocent blood of the people of Ukraine...
