The Hetman of their spirit

He is the Kobzar, the truth teller,
the Kozak, the hero,
the Hetman of their spirit,
the lifeblood of his people,
the soul of Ukraine…
 
He rises from his tomb,
high above the Dnipro,
he flies over his country,
speaking the power of freedom,
his hope for Ukraine…
 
He is the model, the exemplar,
the voice of his people,
the love of country, his homeland,
the Hetman of their spirit,
the soul of Ukraine…
