In Ukrainian (in Aramaic) – v4

In Ukrainian, in the vernacular,
in the language of his people
infusing his words with power,
not the words of the oppressors,
boldly speaking in his native tongue…

The same with Jesus, our Savior,
in words accessible, common,
speaking in the vernacular, Aramaic,
the language of his people, the Jews,
not the words of the empire, of Rome…

Equally subversive, radical, intimate,
defiant against power, evil, but,
for his own people, so authentic,
not the revolutionaries, planted,
the tares with the wheat…

So too now, in truth, in Russia,
a moment of choice, cathartic,
those who speak of freedom,
do they see the hypocrisy,
of their own nation state…
