Made right by the Law

How sad, how foolish,
the ancient people
the Messiah they needed
the One foretold by God,
but they couldn’t see Him,
their deep wound within them
their need for a Savior
to be reconciled to God…
 
They looked outward
at the Roman oppression
they sought a king,
to reclaim David’s throne,
but they were convicted
as prophesied in scripture
they thought they were washed
by obeying the Law…
