Trampled, beaten, yet unbowed – v3

At the cost of so many lives, innocents,
trampled, beaten, yet unbowed, unbroken,
lost under the oppressors’ boots,
their missile fire, drones, their terror,
a genocide so unnecessary,
Putin’s imperialist lust for power,
usurping their sovereignty

Trampled, soiled, tarnished with blood,
the noble flag of these brave people,
but unbowed, unbroken, resolute,
united in their struggle, their determination,
that the blue and yellow flag of this land,
of their nation, their independence,
will rise from the ashes of war

Stained with the blood of their children,
brave sons and daughters, standing resolute,
trampled, in the mud, in the rubble,
hidden in the black soil, in their hearts,
rising like a phoenix from the ashes,
resolve personified, strong in this battle,
never giving up, pressing onward, united,
their prayer, their hope in victory…
