The Sentient Lamb

Pure, unblemished
the sentient lamb
coming forward
as part of God’s plan

Kneeling before us
the priest the sacrifice
taking our hands
putting them on his head

Taking our sin
the stain of judgment
climbing the cross
that we may live

Choosing to die
to be our sacrifice
to pay our cost
making us righteous once more

We rise with him
a forgiven people
to share his message
of God’s divine healing

The sentient lamb
now seated in heaven
waiting for heaven
to reign on the earth
