The Flames of Pentecost

Nothing like fire
to prove God’s promise, fulfilled
the coming of the Spirit
while they all yet lived

Christ’s words alive
not merely a dove
the flames of Pentecost
sent from heaven above

Landing on each believer
giving the power to share
speaking in words of love
that all the world may hear

Christ’s hands and feet
His voice here below
going as the Spirit leads
until we right with Him
the living witnesses
of God’s love for us
