The screen of the law

The word, the ancient text
tradition, our strictures
the ancient word clouding
becoming a stumbling block

Interpretation, the screen of the law
blocking out the vision
to see the will of God

The light shining
in the life of the Christ
coming down from heaven
to give us new life

New birth in the light
the rising from the grave
new life in heaven
at the end of the age
