in entering the waters

there at Gethsemane

falling to his knees

there in the temple

as the priests spit at him

there on Golgotha

when he climbed the tree

self-emptying love

unmerited grace

living, dying

taking my place

Christ’s choice to save

to descend, to rise up

life in our Savior

our king at last
