Filled with God’s Spirit,
the Companion
Christ promised
the flames of
Pentecost,
they preached,
with power, with passion
in the native
tongue of another
Peter stood and
spoke, boldly, as they all would,
preaching the
truth of the Christ, the Messiah,
killed by Man, the
Son sacrificed,
the Lamb God’s
offering
as the prophets
foretold.
The disciples
commissioned on that day
to begin the work
we continue,
filled by the one
same Spirit
spreading the hope
of salvation
by the gift of
God, freely given,
available to all
