Filled with the Spirit,
the flames of Pentecost, they preached
in the native tongue of another
Peter stood and spoke, boldly, as they all would,
preaching the truth of the Christ, the Messiah,
killed by man, the Son sacrificed,
as the prophets foretold.
The disciples commissioned on that day
to begin the work we continue,
spreading the hope of salvation
by the gift of God, freely given
and available to all
