May we not tarry, sojourn,
wandering in the desert
May we not linger, lost,
in the dry places, empty,
living apart, separated
from eternal God…
 
May we not wither, dying,
in the desert, the dry places,
May we be like trees by the waters
springing forth with new life
connected with the Shepherd,
with our Father, with God…
 
May we rise up, revived, anointed,
May we bear fruit in each season,
May our lives be a testament,
a witness to God’s Love
to His promise to walk with us
as we walk on this earth…

Their leaders were arrested, imprisoned – v2 #Georgia

People have been marching, resolute, defiant,
protesting against the regime for months,
their false mandate a lie, a threat,
over 211 days standing together,
a people leaning toward Europe,
away from their cruel masters in Moscow,
wanting to breathe the air of freedom,
to strive into their future, not a false dream…
 
Puppets without an original thought complicit,
pulling from the old Soviet Playbook, Stalin,
recognizing the truth, the existential threat
from their own people, the masses marching,
fresh air of freedom rising, unstoppable,
not wanting people to become infected
to rise further against them, to triumph,
to relegate them to the ash heap of history…
 
Their time is already waning, inexorably, defeated,
but opportunities for terror, for bloodshed, remain,
The people striving forward, marching daily,
gathering in the streets of the capital
defiant against the false leaders,
demanding their westward leaning,
Rejecting the masters in the Kremlin,
wanting to shake off their awful yoke…
 
The people marching for freedom
leaders beaten in the streets, arrested,
imprisoned, silenced, taken, hidden,
no doubt tortured for their power,
The rising of the masses against Russia,
their puppets in Tbilisi, in the parliament,
dragging the country into the orbit, influence,
under the thumb of the madmen in the bunker…

1. Mamuka Khazaradze – arrested, sentenced
2. Badri Japaridze – arrested, sentenced
3. Zurab Japaridze – arrested, sentenced
4. Nika Melia – arrested, sentencing pending
5. Nika Gvaramia – arrested, sentencing pending
6. Giorgi Vashadze – arrested, sentenced
7. Giorgi Gakharia – believed to have fled to Germany
8. Helen Khoshtaria – recently arrested and mistreated in custody; mother of 4 (3 minors); today, prosecutors demanded pretrial detention, but the judge imposed a fine instead
9. Tina Bokuchava – still free; her husband was recently kidnapped and threatened for 9 hours; she’s also a mother of three minors”

Their leaders were arrested, imprisoned

People have been marching, resolute,

We confess we are sheep
though we long to be servants
to be useful to You
We are lost, we wander,
yet we serve Your Word…
 
We confess we are broken
that we have wandered from You;
Guide us back to Your flock
to abide in Your sheepfold
to walk with You, oh Lord…
 
We long to be servants
to be useful to You
to serve others
to bring glory to You name
while we walk this earth…
 
We long to be useful,
to carry Your message,
We desire to draw closer
to feel You walking beside us
gathering us home, when we are lost…

Our choice in living
needing to be honest
being alive, transparent,
holding nothing back…
 
Wick anxiety of its power
be free of hidden secret sin.
Embrace the real peace
that only God can give…

Feeling like a fraud, a lie,
in the barren desert places
far from God’s word,
leaning on our own strength…
 
All an illusion, a lie,
we tell ourselves, standing
our enemies circling ‘round us
as we trust in our flesh…
 
Our history should tell us
we need God’s strength,
water in our desert times,
upon our mountaintops…
 
God alone can save us
in truth, in fact,
all else is a lie, a fraud,
counting on our flesh…

when my flesh is my strength

cursed in the world, broken,
When my flesh is my strength
holding onto nothing
abandoning all else
so far from the Lord
The source of our strength…
 
lost in struggles, hurting,
pulled this way and that
When my flesh is my strength
leaning on experience, habit,
Seeking to find meaning
in the eyes of man…
 
burning in a dry place
no shade from the heat
no rest, no place of belonging
When my flesh is my strength
illusion, lies only, estranged,
When we are so far from God…
