Poetry Where You Live: 10/24/2021

Held within the trunk, the branches,
her form may be hidden,
but revealed to some of us;
stopping to see her movement
the dance in mid-step.
Her body in motion,
yet static, anchored to the earth;
but moving ever, silently,
slower, faster, spinning,
in her spirit, in her mind.
A dancer frozen
in mid-twirl, in a jump;
but dancing yet, posing,
a plie, a pirouette, a leap, ascending,
in her spirit, in her mind.
Her lines may be hidden,
obscured by a hedge of branches;
but her body is still moving,
twisting, turning,
in her spirit, in her mind.

Surrounded by breathtaking beauty
the air fragrant, different,
sensing great power but tempered
by our past, the world, dangers;
Angels all around us, dancing,
standing watch, protecting,
journeying with us in this Garden,
rising from the good earth.

Angels all around us, shining,
creatures of light, of beauty,
the simple, the complex,
at times hidden, apparent,
sharing God’s love with us;
Ambassadors of heaven, creation,
sentinels alive in the Garden
watching over each one of us.
