The earth in danger

Floating, ticking time bombs,
broken down tankers,
environmental disasters
recklessly traveling,
out on the high seas…

Russia is a terrorist state,
unthinking, unfeeling,
playing roulette with weather,
risking the whole planet,
for his lusts, for their greed…

The world must step up,
gathering for the challenge,
for this moment, the risks,
to seize Russia’s shadow fleet,
to bring them to port…

believe, trust - 2

believe, trust,
have faith in God,
let go of your struggle,
rely on the Lord…

God can carry you,
through every storm,
trust, believe,
have faith in God…

rising from our struggles,
giving them over to God,
trusting fully, daily,
in the Spirit, in our Lord…

seeing honestly, openly,
our brokenness, our pain,
our lack of control,
giving our lives over to God…

we will be restored,
our strength will be renewed,
we will rise, triumphant,
when we trust in the Lord…

on wings like eagles
we will be transformed,
rising from our brokenness,
in God we are restored…

I fear being alone

Something deeper, painful,
disconnected, unspoken,
seeking approval, recognition,
in my pain, through my struggles…

I hear my pain, my struggle,
seeking worth, belonging,
I fear being alone,
when You are with me, oh Lord…

Heal my heart, oh heavenly Father,
deep hurt that I carry,
show me I am worthy,
that You love me, again…

I am broken, but I am committed,
to climb back on Your wheel,
to be reshaped, to be molded,
to be a willing vessel, oh God…

My fears, in my flesh,
may slow my steps,
but I am Your child,
lift me from my pit…

Change me on the inside, Lord,
the root cause of my struggle, my pain,
heal my heart, my broken spirit,
that I might fulfill, fully,
my calling, my purpose,
that I would be an authentic witness
of Your love, oh God…

The glaze of God’s love – v2

We become tired, burdened,
too much for us to carry,
weak, succumbing, broken,
in the struggle, the grind of life…

God gathers our broken clay,
our sharp, shattered pieces,
raised, lifted by the Potter,
from the earth, this ground…

We are placed on the wheel,
made soft once again, plastic,
fired in the crucible of life,
washed in the glaze of God’s love…

Our broken clay reshaped,
renewed without, within,
in the hands of the Potter,
new life to begin…

Each of us unique, special,
in the eyes of the Creator,
the colors and patterns
of the glaze of our lives…

Oh, how the Potter loves us,
taking us out of the kiln, the fires,
placing us back in world renewed,
to fulfill His divine purpose…

I have shattered myself
into many jagged pieces...

but I want to change, to be healed,
to be restored in my spirit,
to hold onto hope, faith,
for today and tomorrow...

I confess I am broken, fallen,
but You have gathered my pieces,
You have put me back on Your wheel,
Creator, Potter to my clay...

Healing can begin,
if we are open, honest,
if we let down our guard,
when we are real, authentic…

Let go of your chains,
your worries, your burdens,
renewal, life begins,
together, in community…

For all of us struggle,
we fight the same demons,
our sins, our trials, are part
of the human condition…

Lean into the fight,
wherever the battle is raging,
restoration and healing
starts with one brave step…

The shame of secret sins and hurts

Words too long hidden, remaining silent,
Trauma, anguish, carried alone,
In silence, a heavy burden,
Pain so heavy, overwhelming,
Nowhere to run from our history…

The shame of secret sins and hurts,
But we are no different, truly,
Everyone carries their own shit,
But not everyone is honest, open,
To release themselves of that power…

Now is the time, this moment,
To begin the process, to healing,
To stand in the gap together,
Leaning on our sisters on our brothers,
For a way out of our wilderness…

Our lives are in the balance,
For restoration, for healing, wholeness,
Now is the time to begin again,
To reclaim our purpose, our calling,
To live our lives for God…

What a risk – v2

What a risk we take,
with our lives, our souls,
if we become complacent, tired,
if we don’t see ourselves as set apart,
as aliens, sojourners, citizens of heaven,
if we allow ourselves to become lukewarm,
as a people, as Christians, losing our focus,
our claim to our brother, our Savior,
timid, no longer on fire for Jesus,
for our Master, our Teacher,
immersed in our culture, nations
letting the world around us,
consume us, quench the Spirit,
the fire that once guided,
that lead our every step…

Not for the faint of heart, the grazers,
In truth, they aren’t wanted, or needed,
no, this is diving much deeper, inward,
not a need to but a want to, a moment,
an investment in our eternal lives…

A moment of decision, of commitment,
to bear witness, to challenge ourselves,
to put our all into the effort, the time,
peeling back the layers of the onion,
being transparent in our walk, our lives…

This is the challenge before us, right now,
choosing to stay in the fight, this moment,
to lean into the words of scripture,
to trust God more truly, more fully,
with every moment of our lives…

The suffering servant – 2 – v2

Christ’s very first disciple,
the suffering servant,
the Mother of God, Mary,
mortal like each one of us…

A willing vessel, the handmaiden,
a daughter of Jacob, of David,
brought to a place of glory,
yet bearing so much, pain….

She knows all our struggles,
our suffering in this life, this path,
for she has walked that journey,
from the manger to the cross…

A willing servant, a disciple,
who raised her baby, Jesus,
Mary walked with Christ in life,
from the cross, to heaven above…

I have walked this road

I have walked this road
God has walked it with me
but I need others to help me
to walk with me, to hold,
this load that I carry
to change for the better
my demons in ashes
to walk forward more surely
to live my life more fully
living out my calling,
my godly purpose,
for the glory of God...

What a risk

What a risk we take,
If we become complacent,
If we don’t see ourselves as set apart,
As aliens, sojourners, citizens of heaven,
If we allow ourselves to become lukewarm,
As a people, as Christians, losing our focus,
Our claim to our brother, our Savior,
Not longer on fire for Jesus,
For our master, our teacher,
Letting the world around us,
Consume us, quench the Spirit,
The fire that once guided,
That lead our every step…

In the world

We are aliens in the world
within our own milieu, our culture,
we stand set apart, different,
though you may not see it,
we look like the others,
but we as striving,
we are seeking,
to live only for Christ,
to follow His example,
to be in but not of the world…
