I wrote these lines without
knowing
(how I now wish I had
understood)
how true they truly were
that a corner had been
turned
An ancient enemy awakened
from many years of slumber;
He gave the Beast power
again
out in our broken world
He bade the Beast welcome
the dark spirit within;
He called forth the terror
others surely hide
The Beast left a mask upon
him
grotesque and garish;
His life was taken over
the Beast now his persona
Unbound by convention
societal norms and mores,
the Beast was loose within
him
alive, fully in control
