One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism

God is our unity, our peace,
oneness of our faith,
one Lord over all,
Head of one body
united within Jesus,
Savior of every sinner,
One hope for all of us…

One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism,
This is what we profess, believe,
One God and Father over creation,
All we ever will be, one people together,
in the body of one Savior,
One hope for all eternity,
One way to eternal life…

God is our unity, our love,
One hope in creation,
descended, ascended,
Seated now on His throne
He calls us to Him,
One body united,
The body of Jesus Christ…

Let us draw near, to Christ,
to the One who understands us,
to the throne of faith, of grace,
let us draw near to sit,
at the feet of the risen Christ…
 
Oh God, You call each of us,
to walk in Your ways, Your light,
let us draw near, to drink,
to be empty, to be filled
from the cup of eternal life…
 
Let us draw near, to Christ,
to the One who understands us,
as risen people of faith, of hope,
let us draw near to sit,
at the feet of the risen Christ…

dipping my cup, again, Lord,
into the waters, connected,
into the well of scripture,
into the pool of worship,
the living water of love,
springs of community,
fed within Your vine…
 
dipping my cup, again, Lord,
into the waters, connected,
when I am dry, when I am empty,
longing for the living water,
for the well springs of life,
coming to the waters,
to be healed, to be fed…

dipping my cup, again,
into the well of scripture,

when we are dry, thirsty,
in our bodies, in our spirits,
let us return to the well,
may our lives be refilled…
 
returning to the well,
dipping my cup, again,
drinking of the living water,
in love, in community…
 
let us draw near to God
and to one another,
let us drink of the cup,
of life, the living waters…
 
returning to the well,
of praise, of worship,
praying in community,
with love for one another…
 
let us draw near to God,
to our brothers, our sisters,
may we drink till we are filled,
quenching the thirst in our spirits…

Life begins - v3

Life begins In a miracle, in a moment,

like the Big Bang, as if by magic,

in a twinkling, the world becomes larger,

two becoming one, joined together,

a new life, a new creation, a child, 

a spirit pulled from the guf

the treasury of souls singing,

a beautiful new thing begun…

Molded in our mother’s womb,

a new life, sacred treasure, 

a new creation, at conception,

a mother and a father, two bodies,

creating a new person, life,

a soul pulled from the guf,

life begins in a miracle, a twinkling,

a quickening of new flesh…

The Sanctity of Life - v2

I will never trust the vessel,
an embodiment of evil,
the most unchristian man
that I have ever seen;
but I must ask, how can I
love God, and be a Christian,
when the sanctity of life, each life,
is held in the balance, this choice…
 
Every life is worthy, important,
a gift of the divine, the Creator,
at the moment of conception,
a soul pulled from the Guf,
called, commissioned,
created, molded, within
their mother’s womb,
waiting to be born…
 
With each ending, termination
before their beginning comes
a life unborn, cut down,
an unfulfilled calling,
an unmet purpose,
part of God’s plan, lost, cut down,
a choice made, free will,
but was it of God…
 
A hard place to stand, to anchor,
based on my own convictions, the law,
a struggle between God and free will,
a sense that I should not tell another,
the choices they should make,
pain they would suffer, autonomy,
if choice were taken from them
but grieving for the fate of innocent life…
 
Giving immense power, authority,
to one so utterly broken, bereft,
of any moral character, vile,
a fount of lies, of grievances,
so unlike our Savior, Christ,
so unworthy a leader, a liar,
the worst our country can offer,
how is he a protector of innocent life???

I weep for the unborn – v2

I weep for the unborn,
for innocent life taken,
I grieve for lives altered,
for the many lives lost,
cast into the abyss…
 
So much heart ache, so much pain,
a battle raging before the grave,
before the judgement seat,
wailing and gnashing,
of too many teeth…
 
Life, human life,
in the balance,
a crucible, in between
competing lives,
yet so much pain…

what if cancer - v2

each life precious
each life important,
in God’s plan,
what if cancer
was to be cured
by one dead unborn,
conceived in the womb,
but sent to the tomb,
never seeing the sun
never breathing air…
 
if our days are numbered,
our hairs known by God,
a plan before we are born,
couldn’t this be possible,
if we believe in His promises,
His sovereignty, His judgment,
as reasonable as random chance
a consequence of free will,
a burden of choices we make
before the hand of God…

I weep for the unborn

I weep for the unborn,
for the innocent life taken,
I grieve for the lives, altered,
for the many lives lost,
cast into the abyss…
 
So much heart ache, so much pain,
a battle raging before the grave,
before the judgement seat,
a wailing and gnashing,
of too many teeth…

The Sanctity of Life

I don’t trust the vessel,
an embodiment of evil,
the most unchristian man
that I ever have seen;
but how can I claim,
to love God, to be a Christian,
when the sanctity of life, each life,
is held in the balance…
 
Every life worthy, important,
a gift of the Creator,
at the moment of conception,
a soul pulled from the Guf,
called, commissioned,
created, molded, within
their mother’s womb,
waiting to be born…
 
With each ending, a termination
before their beginning
a life unborn, cut down,
an unfulfilled calling,
an unmet purpose,
part of God’s plan, lost, cut down,
a choice made, free will,
but not of God…
 
A hard place to stand, to anchor,
based on my own convictions, the law,
a struggle between God and free will,
a sense that I should not tell another,
the choices they should make,
the pain they would suffer
if choice were taken from them
but grieving for the fate of innocent life…
 
Giving immense power, authority,
to one so utterly broken, bereft,
of any moral character, vile,
a fount of lies, of grievances,
so unlike our Savior,
so unworthy a leader
the worst our country can offer,
the protector of innocent life…
