All the Believers – v2

All the believers
should be gathered together
we should be singing together
praises to our King
to the coming of Christ

Joyful, ever, singing
ever aware of the Spirit
feeling God’s presence
Christ with us
forever, always

We are guided by the Spirit
believing God’s promise
to be with us
walking with God
all of our days

On this night more than others
celebrating, in memory
of the coming of Christ
our King descending
taking on human flesh

Singing joyfully, together,
for the coming of our Savior
coming as a baby, as a child
descending to the earth
to heal our sinfulness

a week to come – v3

We are approaching the end
of this age, these days
a week yet to come
prophesied, ordained

There is a time promised by God
the words spelled out
the years aligning
a week yet to come

There will be a final moment
seven years of sorrow
a week yet to come
before Christ’s return

grapes from the earth’s vine – v2

a harvest of the flesh, of the devil
grapes from the earth’s vine
those who rejected our Savior
living in the world
following its path

a harvest, the weeds, the tares
grapes for the winepress
for God’s judgment
crushed by the forces
of their earthly choices

hearing God’s voice – v2

We hear God’s voice
speaking a word of warning
but not heeding the message
not protecting himself
the dark clouds coming
to consume his flesh

We hear God’s voice
speaking a warning
when he turned to the message
changing his path, his way,
saving the prophet’s life
because he was protected by God

Something Special about the Guest – v18

There was something worth remembering
in the action of this stranger
something special about the guest;
Seeking Christ where He was
then going to the Master

Boldly going, entering in
an uninvited guest
approaching the Master;
Seeking healing, wholeness
care from the Lord

In our lives, in our ministry
continuing Christ’s labors
out into the world;
Our gifts are being given
used for God’s purpose

Seeing the uniqueness
the needs of each stranger
opening our hearts to them;
Being open as He was
wherever we find them

Sharing the love of God
to all whom we meet
in the church, on the street;
Being the light in the world
Christ’s hands and His feet

Dying in the Waters – v3

Dying in the waters
into the waters we fall,
Dying to ourselves, the world
to our past, our sin
rising, the Spirit, the dove may it fall.

Ascending from the death
rising from the grave
to walk with our Savior;
Only by grace, through God’s mercy,
do we spread His message of love.

A new life in this age,
a servant in this world,
carrying Christ’s message
to the ends of the earth
as we are called to do.

Living as changed creations
with new life in our Lord
traveling the streets of this life
until we walk in the age to come
on the streets paved with gold.

The air was different

The air was different
as we left the hospital
very different in fact
than an hour before
It had been raining
the temperature 38 degrees
as we drove up the interstate
when we checked in
It was still raining
the temperature 38 degrees
as we stepped out of the hospital
walking toward the car
but soon it would be snowing
and the air held a presence
of the many inches of snow
that were soon to come

Entering with Them – v7

They were walking beside me
offering me a bulletin,
a welcome as I entered in;
I entered with them
the saints resting here
those who have yet to stay
in heaven above.

They were walking beside me
offering me a place
as if at a wedding
seating behind the groom
in the bride’s church;
There was something special about
in this hallowed space.
