Relentless Love – v2

Grace to love us

for simply being

for merely existing

desiring a loving communion

relationship with us

as in the Garden of Eden,

so long ago, but not forgotten,

the way it was at the beginning

before choices estranged us

from God’s loving presence

sent out of the Garden, into the world

Relentless Love, alive,

pursuing, chasing,

offering itself to us

A prayer of healing

in His outstretched hand

waiting for us to turn

as a Father holds out a hand

for a young child, a wayward adult,

before they reach for His

So is the world before God

Not seeing, rejecting, ignoring

the ready hand of Relentless Love

Stones of the Priesthood – v2

We are the stones of the priesthood

each one a building block and a stone

a holy living temple

each stone a priesthood

joining in collective ministry

one upon another

across time and space, with

the saints who went before us

with all alive now who believe

united to carry the message

of our risen Savior

to the ends of the earth

to spread the Good News

God’s love, pursuing us

ready to bring us all home

what it can be if we are open

We receive Food for the soul

nourished by time in worship

time to share, to shine,

the Word of God

in living worship, open

Can you feel His breath

the whisper of His touch

God is so close to us,

in every moment

when we finally

come back from the world

and turn to God

He is right there

lovingly open, waiting

pursuing, following, wooing,

seeking us, our hearts

God’s grace, ready and waiting

for when we come back

and turn to Him

Tentacles of Satan – v2

Life is so full,

of temptations,

leading us, astray

away from the Father,

forgetting the love

of the Son, our Brother,

the healing of the Savior

bringing us home

to our loving Father

So easy to be led astray

to follow the will of the world

to succumb to the many faces

the tentacles of Satan,

the Tempter, leading us

to the darkness, away,

the false gratifications

the things of this earth,

fleeting and failing

None of it eternal

none of them worthy

Not lasting, like

the everlasting love of God

Give God Our Hearts – v2

We are to give God

our hearts, to live in harmony

with the Father, the Creator,

our Brother, His Son

to revere, to herald,

to walk humbly with our God

to live by the Spirit’s guiding

out into this world.

We are to lift up our lives

as a temple, a priesthood

for the love of God, for the world,

to be instruments, vessels,

lamps burning brightly

of His love, through our piety

a loving reflection of Him

what others witness, when they see us

We are to spend time in the Word,

in fellowship, in relationship

with our Creator, our Savior,

led by the Holy Spirit

ever closer, to God,

and to our fellow man.

Give God Our Minds – v2

Out of love, reverence,

in faith and in hope,

light convicting, changing us

turning our lives to God,

to the risen Christ,

we give God our minds,

conformed to the Father,

through loving worship,

through fellowship with our brothers,

our sisters in the faith

In time spent studying,

diving into the scripture

to the life of the mind, of worship,

learning the lessons in the scriptures

the Holy Word of God,

timeless lessons, parables, Truth,

for all those who walk this earth,

all who wish to know God;

the call upon our lives

Give God Our Hands – v2

Oh, Give God our hands,

our feet, our voices, our love

to be Christ, the Son,

light burning bright, overcoming the darkness

ministers to the whole world

reflecting God’s love

in mission to the earth

to the peoples of the world

honoring the Great Commission

the power in those flames, Pentecost,

the Spirit alive within

being the hands of the Creator,

the feet of the apostles,

the voice of righteousness

for all who are in need

all who suffer injustice

all the sinners, estranged from God

in need of healing, of life rebor

and/o r to be God’s image

for all mankind

so is our call, our calling, deep within each one of us

the stirring of the Spirit

to announce, like John before Him

before the Baptism of Christ

that the Day of the Lord

is drawing nigh, that the Kingdom comes

and is already here

if we give God our hands

and joyfully do His will

Precious Threads – v2

Like precious threads, woven together

so is the church, the body of Christ

Each one of us a precious thread,

essential for completing the loving picture

the reflection of our God, of the Savior

An image of God, within each one of us,

each a part of God’s wondrous creation,

of His wonderful plan, for all of mankind

together a beautiful tapestry,

a loving fabric, to be used, to be offered

to warm the hearts of those in need

to wrap around those crying out

Let each one of us, feel our calling

Fall into the loom of the Master artist

join our fellow disciples

and become the precious thread

we were meant to be

woven with love, by His hands,

into the image of God

here and now, in this world
