Gaining Joy – v2

In the communion,

the sharing in the chapel

giving our confessions to God,

our sin revealed, out loud

confessing to God

and, in so doing,

feeling real forgiveness

from God and ourselves

The magnitude of the gift

the shedding of His blood,

the breaking of His body

revealed again

in the time of sharing

this holy meal, communion,

remembering again

what He did for us

Gaining joy in the sharing,

in the humble sharing

the bread and the wine

praying after receiving

sitting in the stillness

gaining joy in our salvation

our thanks before our God
