On the Road to Emmaus – v3

When I first wrote this I would say
A week ago, I was on that ancient road
walking with my brothers, with our Brother
hearing His voice, feeling His presence
His Father’s grace, our Father’s grace
the Spirit living in the space we shared
within our tears, our laughter, our witness
sharing the road with us still
beside us on our journey, some just beginning
some further down the road,
but all of us on the same road
journeying on forward, going into the world
sharing in the telling of the story, and its meaning
in this present time, for each of us
walking on the Road to Emmaus
with our Savior, and with each other
