Like a White Hot Coal – v2

You were burning within me
pouring over me, wave after wave
of joy, of repentance, of grace
heaped on me, filling me whole
slain by the Spirit, shaking in the temple,
in the sanctuary as we sang your praises
Oh I am so glad You made us expandable
not rigid, able to be stretched, to grow
to yearn within me, to know you better
to experience more of the grace
all around, to drink in Your Word,
the wisdom, the sharing, the communion
walking together on the road
where you led, so long ago
Burning white hot within me
the Spirit on fire, alive,
wanting to spread the joy
welling up within me,
to bring more to You,
through the words You give me
wanting to spread the Good News
around the world, stones cast, seeds scattered,
one poem at a time
