His family’s genealogy,
fulfilling ancient prophecy
claiming His sovereignty...
 
The triumphal entrance
of our Lord, to reign, in victory,
riding on a humble donkey,
our humble Servant King...
 
Son of Solomon, Son of David,
Son of Man, Son of God,
entering Jerusalem as a King
to shouts of “Hosanna!”...
 
A week like no other
fulfilling divine purpose
come to save us, to heal,
come to be our sacrifice...
 
Riding on a humble donkey
our King of life, of glory,
come to shouts of “Hosanna!”...
before the cries, “Crucify!”...

a knowing sorrow in that moment
seeing so clearly his pain
the grief of expectation
heartbreak of relief
after years of bitter anguish
a healing of the breach...
 
a truth in revelation,
knowing the pain of those years
written in the eyes of Hosea
so stark, so plain the epiphany
the sorrow of that moment,
remembered to this day...

Set Your hand upon him,
Bring him wholeness and healing,

Praying for a different outcome – v2

A living fervent prayer,
in this now, in this moment,
for wisdom, for discernment,
praying for a different outcome
than what came to pass,
fear gripping my spirit,
resistance is a weak option,
not knowing, not seeing,
what was part of God’s plan,
a different pathway forward,
for where we stand now, today…
 
My vision short, so weak,
living in my stovepipe, media,
hearing the same message,
the terror so real, so close,
wanting something else,
a hope, a future, a dream,
but facing what is, before me,
seeing more clearly, honestly
pragmatic, certainly, the truth,
praying for a different outcome
but here is reality, right here, right now…

Go to God when you are hurting,
when you struggle, when you are certain,
when you have only questions,
when you are in despair…
 
Seek wisdom, the fount of knowledge,
dive into the loving word of God,
seek justice, as you are able,
don’t fall into Satan’s pit…
 
Go to the Father, to the Spirit,
pray always in Jesus’ name,
when you have questions,
when you do not know what to do…

Focus on the divine, the worthy,
on the holy, the righteous,
do what is pleasing in God’s sight,
in every word, in your every action…
 
Think about what is right to God,
ponder His holy scripture,
seek to be a servant of God,
in every word, in your every action…
 
Focus on the divine, the worthy,
not things of the earth, this flesh,
strive to live a life righteous, holy,
in every word, in your every action…

In honesty is freedom – v2

through transparency we are gifted,
in honesty is true freedom,
being open, vulnerable, loving,
toward God and our fellow man…
 
unburden your life, your spirit,
forswear lies, all deception,
lean forward into the light, the truth,
be showered with God’s rich blessing…
 
guard your heart with a prayer
of God’s protection, in God’s mercy,
be brutally honest, open
to all God has in store…
 
walk forward boldly, in the light,
strive into God’s truth, only,
sharing your life fully,
not stumbling on any word…

every lie is a stone – v2

every lie is a stone, a cross,
a weight we choose to carry,
each one separates us from God,
from other people, our neighbors,
a trap that leads to sin, a wedge,
estranging us from one another…
 
Truth alone will save us, reborn,
leading us to heaven, to God,
redeeming us in our spirit,
a part of the fabric, the body,
calm within us, rising,
we can live in peace…
 
every lie is a stone, a cross,
a burden on every heart,
born for the fire, for the dust,
leading to destruction, separation,
estrangement in the spirit,
the path of our loving God…
 
Truth alone will save us, reborn,
lifting our every struggle from us,
removing every stumbling block,
every stone that we carry,
adding enduring worthy,
restoring us to God…

every lie is a stone

every lie is a stone,
a weight we choose to carry,
each one separates us from God,
other people, our neighbors,
a trap that leads to sin, a wedge,
estranging us from one another…
 
Truth alone will save us,
leading us to heaven, to God,

I bear no ill will - v2

I bear no ill will,
I hold onto no grudges,
I forgive all, everyone,
who may have hurt me…

I do not want to carry,
any pain any longer,
I want to live free from
the burdens I carried…

I bear no ill will, no anger,
no baggage will I hold onto,
I release my hands, clutched,
around their necks...

I have forgiven them all,
for God has forgiven me,
I forgive all, everyone,
who may have hurt me...

I bear no ill will,

Focus on the divine, on God’s message,
on the holy, the righteous, the best,
do what is pleasing in God’s sight,
in every word, in every action…
 
Think about what is right in God’s sight,
ponder on holy scripture, holy wisdom,
seek to ever be a servant of God,
in every word, in every action…
 
Long for God to come up beside you,
in your life, on your journey daily,
listen to God’s wisdom, his calling,
in every word, in each breath…

We cannot stop – v2

We cannot stop,
for they cannot stop,
they must fight to survive,
we must stand with them…
 
We must stand our ground,
we must remain resolute,
they need us more right now,
to stand in the gap, the breach…
 
We cannot stop,
for they cannot stop,
they must fight for existence,
we must stand with them…
 
This is a war of attrition,
until there is a tipping point,
they face an existential threat,
and we must remain faithful…
