Help me God

A prayer repeating

in simplest terms

knowing I am broken

that I have made a mess

that I need God’s assistance

in all of my life.

Help me Father God

help me Lord Jesus

help me Holy Spirit

in spite of myself.

Help me God, please,

I am lost, I am broken,

I need your help

to face my demons

to change my ways

to live out my purpose.

We each are shaped by the Father,

the Potter, the Creator;

We are made with the loving hands

of our Father, Abba, Almighty God.

We are a masterpiece of God

each person unique, special;

We are each made for a purpose

we are all part of God’s plan.

God help me - v2

Father God in heaven,

oh risen Lord Jesus,

oh indwelling Holy Spirit,

hear my fervent prayer;

Save me in my hour of need.

God help me, I am broken,

I have no words, hear me;

Save me, change me,

in my struggle, my sorrow

in this pit where I dwell.

God help me, restore me

lift me from this pit

of my own making;

Set me on your path;

Hear me Lord, save me.

power of prayer

Power of prayer

truth, even in the midst,

in the struggle, in striving,

in moments of doubt

in our faith being tested

not even being certain

in the presence of our God.

Power of prayer

rising above, persevering,

in dipping our cup into

into the living waters

in the ebb and flow

of the journey, the struggle

coming again and again to God.

garbled prayer

mumbling noise

no coherence, no point

just gutteral utterances

raised up to God

keep praying, persevere

when words won’t come

because God alone is faithful

God will answer, trust,

raise your prayers to God
