- With the 5 poems posted today, I have now posted 250 poems.
- I am going to take a short hiatus in posting new poems so that I can focus exclusively on preparing for the NH Bar Exam for the next 10 days. Look for more on the other side (I have already identified 35 I want to write).

Vacation
Time off
Time away
Time to recharge
To fight another day
Fun and sun
On the run
To the park
To the beach
In the car
We’ll go far
Happy still
Need to Chill
July to August
Ready to deal
With September
To December

Cicada Feet - v1
High in the trees
After subterranean slumber
Your song exalts
Summer heat
I found you
By the path
Underfoot
Alone
Damp flesh
From exertion
I reached,
Pushed dust
Before you
Touched your cellophane wing
Alien life
Black body
Abandoned cigar butt
Hammerhead Eyes
Clear cape
Black ribbing
You climbed -
Tip, knuckle
Back of hand
Lunar landscape
Tentative
High stepping
Soft hairs
Sawgrass feet
Scrape, slide
Fall to earth
After subterranean slumber
Your song exalts
Summer heat
I found you
By the path
Underfoot
Alone
Damp flesh
From exertion
I reached,
Pushed dust
Before you
Touched your cellophane wing
Alien life

Congo Square
Sneakers of mud
Squish between my toes
Move to the music
Unhinge my spine
Rain upon me
Don’t have a care
Feeling the deep bass
Drumming of the African beat
Camera and pack
Swing, I sway
In place
In bliss

Mountain
Algae, moss and lichen
Up above the trees
Granite, quartz and mica
Cleared by the breeze
Running down the spine
Hikers trail and water
Fault-line and convenience
Guide my feet and father
Fir and scrub and balsam
Fragrant in the air
Draw us to the summit
Up the rocky stair
Up above the tree-line
What a vista to perceive
Spring, summer or autumn
One hike is but a tease

Stepping Stones
Moments, choices, paths taken
And not taken
For a purpose, a reason
In their own season
To learn, to grow
Do we know
When we choose
What we have to lose
Repeating themes
Or so it seems
Throughout our day
Come what may
Or is it better to have charted and mapped
As some of us as apt
To see the end
So as not to pretend
For our course is ours to see
Before we reach eternity
