Cicada Feet - v2

High in the trees
After subterranean slumber
Your song exalts
Summer heat

I found you
By the path
Underfoot
Alone

I reached,
Pushed dust
Before you
Damp flesh
From exertion
Touched cellophane wing

Alien life
Black body
Abandoned cigar butt
Hammerhead Eyes
Clear cape
Black ribbing

You climbed -
Tip, knuckle
Back of hand
Lunar landscape
Tentative
High stepping

Soft hairs
Sawgrass feet
Scrape, slide
Fall to earth
