go and do likewise – 2 – v3

Heed this message
Christ’s answer
this example of service
giving to our neighbors
to all those in need

Being a good neighbor
by our acts, now
no longer a stranger
offering love, hope
to all those in need

Go and do likewise
Christ’s answer
the admonition of the Savior
how we are to live
how we are to give

Being a good neighbor
by our acts, now
to friends, to the stranger
offering love, hope
to all those in need

Knocking on the Door – v3

When we make the conscious act
to say yes to our Savior
opening the gift, transformed
move into the home, the house of God

Answering the call of the father
knocking on the door
ever present welcome
and offer of justifying grace

Where we can live, grow,
find our call, our gifts,
our place in the kingdom
this is what God gives

in the family – v2

in the family, belonging
children of God
grafted, forgiven
into the vine
into communion
into the fold
living by the Spirit
within the love of God
whole, scars fading
redeemed, restored
in the Lord

Alone, deserted

in our dark places
in struggles
feeling alone, deserted
abandoned by God
not sensing his presence
but God is with us
here in this life
walking beside us
sharing his light
life everlasting
home within him
and him within us

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;

for greener pastures,
18 yet I rejoice in my God

as we gather
come together
in life, in community
we have peace
we find hope
we are restored,
together in Jesus
given new life
