A Fire, Ablaze – v3

There is a spark of eternity

a tongue of the fire of Pentecost

within each beating heart;

Kindle that flame

that sacred, holy love;

Pour out Your blessing

into my heart

Kindle that fire,

ablaze within me

May I share the love

You have given me

May Your voice speak

words to share with others

urgently, to the world;

May I offer a glimpse

of Your love

to all mankind

Fill me, Lord;

Light up my life;

ignite the candles

individual flames alight

endless candelabra

tiered and terraced

adoring the courts of my heart.

A glimpse of the image

of your courts, lit from within,

shining deep in our hearts

not hid under a bushel

up on the lamp stands

of our spirits.

Sharing your love

your message of hope

redemption in Christ

all of our days.

To be with you Lord

in your presence

sharing our walk

at your feet.

Ignite the candles

ablaze with you

your Spirit, your message

to share, to proclaim

to preach, to shout

loving all of us

loving you.

Set me ablaze

ignite my candles

individual flames alight;

Endless candelabras,

tiered and terraced,

adorning the courts of my heart.

A glimpse of the image

of Your courts, lit from within,

deep in our hearts;

Not hidden under a bushel

up on the lampstands

of our spirits, our lives.

Sharing Your love,

Your message of hope,

our redemption in Christ;

All of our days

to be with You Lord

abiding in Your presence.

Sharing our walk,

at Your feet;

ignite the candles

ablaze within me;

To share, to proclaim

to preach, to shout;

Loving all of us

Spirit of God

light in me, ignite,

a brushfire of words

the bloom of Your love;

Shouting from the heavens

of Your glory, Your prayer,

Your hope for mankind

that we would turn to You

Fire in me, spark,

ignite my heart to singing

sharing your grace with all

an endless measure;

Your steadfast guiding

an overflowing

water, living presence,

of Christ, of the Spirit

living within us

teaching us more

that we may serve

Kindle my spirit

to stop my trembling

my doubts washed away

serving with a joyful heart;

Boundless grace

washing down,

pouring into me;

let me be empty

that I may be filled

The race of life too important

all human flesh passes away

the goal of paradise

ours if we never give up

staying focused on the Christ

His Spirit within us

God knows the path
