Committed to the work – v2

Their only focus, Jesus,
to a life together in Christ,
holding everything in common,
sharing His message, His life…

Committed to the work,
sharing the Gospel, Christ,
bound together in worship,
faithful in their walk…

Their only focus, Jesus,
to save other souls,
offering light, salvation,
to a fallen world…

Their number increased – v2

Joyful transformation,
awakening into promise,
lives changed forever,
becoming followers of Christ…

Their number increased,
hearing the Gospel message,
lives were transformed,
becoming as one…

Sharing their lives, together,
one people, one body,
one hope in Christ Jesus,
the Perfecter of our faith…

Their number increased,
sharing the Good News,
one purpose, one calling,
imprinted on our hearts…

The first community of believers – v2

They were gathered, together,
all in common, in one place,
focused on worship, on Jesus Christ,
a moment of origin, of awakening,
being together, gathered, sharing,
one loaf, one body, sharing,
from that one cup, life,
the first community of believers,
gathered together, united,
sharing a life in Christ…

And they will prophesy – v3

They will be gifted

Filled with power

Your Spirit from above

and they will Prophesy

speaking of Your Love.

Your people with rise up

speaking from their Hearts,

offering Your Love

written on our Flesh

on the beating of each heart.

And they will prophesy

Filled with power
your Spirit from above
and they will prophesy
speaking of your love
Your people with rise
speaking from their heart
offering your love
written on our flesh
on the beating of our hearts

In the lives of those who believed

Christ here with us
God works unfolding
continuing to the present
in the lives of those who believed
going forward, onward
believing in his message
that he was the One
yet coming in service
to continue his holy work
here now, in the future
to the ends of the earth

While We Have Breath

Reading the words of Paul
how he would have preferred death
to walk with Christ
to leave this mortal coil

Yet his words, his life
a testimony to us all
all who have followed
to answered the servant call

That we would live in Christ
sharing his witness of love
that while we have breath
we would answer the servant call

Living or dying,
ever walking with Christ
yoked to our savior
walking the way of the cross

Led by the Spirit
heeding the shepherd’s call
peace in his presence
submitting to God our all

Growing with Each Other

In our sacred calling
witnesses of God’s love
connected to each other
and to the Christ
traveling on the journey
walking the way of the cross

Growing with each other
abiding in the vine
leaning on one another
when the way is hard
guided by the Spirit
following the shepherd’s call

Lifting up each other
that we would never fall
cleaved to each other
all the children of God
following our master
serving as we are called

Praying for the Seedlings

An image of the garden
of the servant in the farmhouse
praying for the seedlings
that have already borne good fruit

The farmer as a member
a branch of the one vine
remembering the little ones
the seedlings left behind

Yet all of us together
part of one living prayer
all of us connected
rooted in the vine

Each of us bearing fruit
each one in turn
abiding in the vine
lifting each other up

Praying for each other
whether near or far
bound to one another
branches of the living vine

Watching, Assisting

Like a good parent
an assistant to the potter
a servant of the gardener
there when the master calls

Watching, assisting in the effort
being the hands of the sculptor
pruning in the right season
going where we are called

Each of us in our ways
gifted for the work
giving our hands to the creator
that through us his grace
his love, living waters
would rain down on the earth

By the Side of the River

Finding the faithful
set apart, praying,
by the side of the river
joining them there

Sharing their faith easily
letting God speak through them
opening the eyes of the believers
bringing them closer to God
