use my pen, my struggles

my desire to be faithful

use me Lord, just as I am,

show me the places

where I might serve you

give me the words

to heal other hearts

guide me Lord

upon this journey

here, in this life

teach me to fear

none but You

send me, use me

to share the message

Your love, Your provision

all that we need.

love, mercy

immutable justice

this is the promise of God

life eternal

everlasting

in the courts of the Lord

freed from oppression

evil doers, those who prey

here on the earth

life forever

immutable justice

to the holy mountain I seek you

seeking your presence
to be close to you oh God

My Hope in the Lord

Even in the storms
the disquiet of my life
seeking clarity for my path
that you would guide my feet

My hope in the Lord
in him I take my refuge
coming close to you, my God
to feel your breath on me

Standing against my enemies
knowing you are by my side
walking through the fear, anxiety
crossing to the other side

Standing on this rock
the fortress is my Lord
pushing through adversity
I shall not be destroyed.

The Bread of His Presence

Not up on the altar
set apart, in the temple
far from the maddening roar
the world, our daily lives

Close beside us
the bread of his presence
the daily bread, our brother
always close at hand

Walking with us
the Spirit does impart
the living bread of heaven
giving us our comfort
proof of his abiding love

Holding onto his presence
feeling his loving hand
in our earlier troubles
protected under his wing

Led in the struggles
through the shadows of this life
Holding fast to God

Father I call to you
to feel you with me
standing resolute in the storms
protected, by your side

Waling with you ever
singing praises
joyfully singing
to you my God and king

Needing you with me
your spirit is my strength
guiding my trembling steps

In the Boat, Drowning

In the boat, drowning
cries to the Lord
but knowing not his nature
how they would be restored

Fears of equal weight
the storms and his power
confused, bewildered
in this place, at this hour

Able to call on the seas
to call upon the wind
stopping the gale from blowing
chided by the master
oh, we of little faith

Turning to the Lord
when the winds, howling,
the waves crashing
Trusting in the Christ
that God would hear our prayer
