Our breath-prayer

In the crucible of this age,

uncertainty of these moments,

we share an eternal love,

a breath-prayer between us,

“I will love you until the day I die”.

So much power in these words,

this promise spoken between us,

but how much more joy there will be,

when we are united, my love, for eternity,

and we dance in the streets of heaven...

Acts of terror, of erasure,
a hybrid war of genocide,
seeking to destroy culture,
an existential threat, survival,
bombing icons, treasures, history,
seeking to destroy printing, literature,
even denying the names of their cities,
denying their right to exist…

Purposeful evil, terror, war crimes,
systematic erasure, propaganda,
stealing history, denying existence,
appropriating that which isn’t theirs,
claiming their rights, their power,
usurpers in their midst, oppressors,
trying to control, to steal, to diminish,
that which makes them unique…

Fighting an aggressor, a false master,
a bully, an empire, a capital rising,
built on terror, the backs of the fallen,
their falsehoods, their fabrications,
a narrative, a lie of conquest, propaganda,
their origin story another’s history,
a good and noble people living,
in power before they came to exist…

An amalgam of nations, of subjugation,
centuries of repression, torment, struggle,
pushing the people into slavery, serfdom,
a blood-lust for conquest, for empire,
harsh masters, subordination, defiance,
only seeking dominion, erasure,
not seeing them as their brothers,
not seeing their holy right to exist…

Taking what wasn’t, what isn’t theirs,
stealing history, destroying culture,
a bloody war of attrition, of genocide,
today again creating scorched earth,
but These People are rising resolute, resilient,
speaking with power, “never again”,
this time we will fight for independence,
this time we will fight and win…

Hybrid War is War

Denial is just appeasement,
an enemy in its own right,
an artificial red line, hiding,
putting our heads in the sand,
pretending that this is an accident,
that these are not war crimes,
that they are not acts of aggression…

Hybrid war is war, evil, aggression,
though we fail to see it, deny it,
lost in our excess, our greed,
in our own personal shit, hiding,
not seeing the canvas, the context,
the far bigger picture, the truth,
chess pieces moved on the board….

We are in a hot war though we deny it,
for Putin, the Cold War never ended,
the collapse of the Soviet Union
meant nothing, no respite, no peace,
no change in Russia’s essential nature,
they were always our geopolitical Enemy,
as they always will be while he is in power…

Hybrid war, propaganda, terror,
boldness, poisonings, killings, sabotage,
pipelines, cables, election interference,
everything on the table, possible, permissive,
no red lines, no caution required, truly,
when their enemy is silent, appeasement,
no reprisals, just merely wringing our hands…

Their chess games are so different,
than how we see the world, as poker,
brinksmanship, influence, bluffing,
versus a relentless pursuit on the board,
willing to sacrifice pawns for their objective,
human life expendable, unimportant,
boldness, something we would never do…

Hybrid war a reality, wake up, we are at war,
all you leaders west of the Kremlin,
the man in the bunker is KGB, ready to attack,
learning from his elders, cold warriors,
willing to grab more land, corrupt power,
while we look at our cards, our choices,
we better act before it is too late…

A #prayer for #Ukraine – v2

A year of loss just ended,
pain expanding, relentless,
so much precious destroyed,
so many lives lost, damaged,
in Russia’s war of terror, genocide…

A prayer for Ukraine,
the new year just beginning,
that the tide will turn for them,
rising from their ashes, the rubble,
that their victory will come soon…

A year of life rising,
Healing, renewal, life,
restoration of their nation,
a just and lasting peace for them,
that Russia will be defeated…

A prayer for Ukraine,
for their help, the allies,
that support will continue,
that victory will come quickly,
to these good and brave people…

out in public, fearless,

knowing how powerful,

but still out in the open
willing to take a chance…

Did any of them notice

The restaurant was crowded Saturday night,
as we all gathered, together for dinner,
the darkened bar was where we were seated,
all of us in the booth, a little too close…
music throbbing a staccato beat,
I was so glad you were across from me,
how I wanted to touch you, to kiss you,
I wasn’t wearing underwear, neither were you,
I wondered if any of the others had a clue…

I saw the question in your eyes, I smiled, “yes”,
wanting you even more, for your touch,
sitting across the table, out in public, with them,
as I felt you raise your left foot up upon me,
rubbing me up and down, slowly, smiling,
pressing against me as I got rock hard,
you laughed as we ordered another round
wings and nachos, the margaritas kept coming…

I slipped off my sandals, shaking off the dirt,
raising my foot to your crotch, your snatch, her doorway,
catching your agreement, your wish, as I took another sip,
so warm, so inviting, what I wanted, I had to dive in…
with my toes, gently, I opened the edge of your shorts,
I slid my big toe up through your lips, rising,
camping on your hot clit, inside you, oh yes,
I am certain I grinned, lingering, pushing, sliding,
catching a whiff of you, of our burning desire…

before He began ministry,
when He spoke in the Temple,
a most precocious boy…

when did Christ know His divinity,
was He aware in the womb,
when His cousin leapt beside Him,
what must Mary have thought,
how they would raise the Son of God,
the Messiah long-awaited come to earth,
fully-human and fully-God…

a consciousness of who He was
a tear in the fabric of time
there at the beginning, creation,
now seated on His throne,
the babe who was placed in the manger,
the man who would climb our cross,
who suffered to give us life…

God held within mortal clay,
held by the flesh of His body,
constrained as a child, this babe,
yet He is fully God…

the sentience of Christ,
God dwelling here with us,
a tear in the fabric of time,
the eternal become mortal…

life rose with Him, the Trinity,
there at the Creation,
the Babe laid in the manger,
the Man who climbed our cross…

A new year, a new page

A new year, a new page,
a blank page to be written,
speaking life into the world,
a new way of living…

A new year, a new page,
things to be abandoned, burned,
baggage to be left in the old year,
chains no longer to carry…

A new year, a new page,
for me to write in creation,
taking up my cross, walking,
on the path that God has written…

A new year, a new page,
to be authentic in each moment,
aware of the power of each thought,
each prayer spoken into creation…

A #prayer for #Ukraine

A year of loss ending,
pain expanding, relentless,
so many lives lost, damaged,
in Russia’s war of terror, genocide…

A prayer for Ukraine,
for the new year beginning,
that the tide will turn,
that victory will come soon…

A year of life rising,
restoration of their nation,
a just and lasting peace for them,
Russia will be defeated…

A prayer for Ukraine,
that support will continue,
that victory will come quickly,
to these good and brave people…

a breath-prayer between us,

So much power in these words,
This promise spoken between us,
But how much more joy,
When we are united, my love,
