We walk with the risen Christ

We walk with the risen Christ,
we are all baptized with Him,
we drink of His goodness,
of the waters of eternal life…

We see Him with our own eyes,
we testify to Christ’s presence,
The Son, the Word of God,
alive, here in the flesh...
 
We speak our truth, our certainty,
We know Him fully, just as He knows us,
God dwells with us, our Lord and Teacher,
He still teaches us to love... 
 
We see the risen Christ, we feel His Spirit,
we saw the empty grave behind Him,
we have touched His risen flesh
and we watched Him ascend to heaven…

We have walked with the living Christ

We have walked with the living Christ,
We have been baptized with Him,
drinking of His goodness,
of the waters of life…

We have seen Him with our own eyes,
We testify to His presence,
The Son, the Word of God,
alive, here in the flesh...
 
We speak our truth, certainty,
We knew Him fully,
God dwelled with us, our teacher,

We have seen the risen Christ,

The Mark of the Beast, His Charagma

May we each stand strong, resolute,
may our faith hold us, firmly,
may we be protected, within,
in that moment of gravitas, choosing…
 
If we are alive when that day comes,
I pray we will each have the strength to refuse
the Mark of the Beast, his branding,
as to our right hand and our forehead...
 
May we deny the Beast, the False Prophet,
his mark, his brand, the Charagma,
may we hold onto Jesus Christ,
our risen Lord and Savior…
 
Our faith, our trust, and our hope
all that is within us, our spirits,
is in our risen Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ, who comes in victory...

we profess what we have seen

Christ in the Word alive,
God’s Word become flesh,
stepping into the darkness,
facing life and death…
 
We speak of what we know,

Charagma, the Mark of the Beast

Raise me from the pit

Lord, You came to save us,
to free the captives, to throw
off our chains of bondage,
I pray to You now,
to forgive me, to save me,
Raise me from the pit,
this world of darkness,
set me on the path,
You have written for my life…
 
I see these words of the prophet,
the words of Your commission,
the power of God’s Spirit,
as You walked this earth,
I long to know You more fully,
to love You more deeply,
to sense You with me always,
today, right now, this minute,
to follow more fully, the path,
Your calling for my life…
 

Lord, raise me from the pit,

from my prison, my past, this earth,

Open my heart for all of You,

Your love come down, the victory,

You have already won, joy,

abounding, overflowing, abundance,

lift the chains I have carried,

for most of my life, the way,

that I have traveled, change me,

Set me on the path, the way,

You have written for my life…

Sent here on a mission,
Alive within His spirit,

God speaks in clouds,
in shafts of light, sunbeams,
shining down from Heaven,
the whole world alive...
 
God speaks in power,
in clouds, in light, in darkness,
building thunderheads,
the world is dark, is bright...
 
God speaks in whispers,
in thunderclap, in rainstorms,
washing the earth in water,
soon in light once again…

I feel your support,
I sense our connection,
across the miles, across time,
yet we are as close as breath,
the words we share…
 
I long to share my words,
my hopes, my innermost desires,
to whisper them into your ear,
to feel my breath heavy on your neck,
in a prayer, a lingering kiss…
 
My words are a hope, a prayer, a promise,
breathed into creation, this world,
longing to manifest peace for you,
a moment with power, to ignite,
to kindle, to set the world ablaze…
 
Our future is unknown, but alive,
I know it in my spirit, my being,
in this moment, this now, today,
wanting to touch you, be with you,
to feel your gentle touch, your caress…

Nature calls us – v2

Nature calls us
dwelling all around us
in whispers of colors,
in the rustling leaves,
wooing of the water,
texture, the smells, alive,
murmuring of creation
calling to us, to our spirits.
to our hearts, to our minds….
 
Nature calls us
to stop, to listen,
the muse of our spirits,
to draw closer to mystery,
joy in each moment, present,
to the sound, light, awakening,
power of each moment,
life all around us, now,
calling to each of us…

Looking down at my hands – v8

These words of Christ Jesus,
to the ones challenging His piety,
His challenge to cast the first stone,
knowing only He was worthy,
the only One without sin,
choosing not to stand in judgment,
to stone her for adultery, her sin,
her blood in His hands…
 
Standing there, convicted,
with all of the others,
looking down at my hands,
unable to look in Christ’s face,
dropping my stone to the ground,
shame for my acts, my sin,
no longer standing in judgment,
her blood in my hands…
 
So aware of my shame, my sin,
my unworthiness to judge,
to condemn, to convict her,
to stand in His shoes,
to pretend I am God,
not made of earth, of clay,
not standing in judgment
her blood in my hands…
 
Turning, walking away,
leaving my stone behind me
so aware of my sin, not judging,
wanting no part of this,
wanting her to live,
not standing in judgment,
repenting of my own ways,
my blood in my hands…

We celebrate 2 anniversaries because they both mean a great
deal to us, in very different ways.
I grieve for those who are able to marry civilly in so many
states now, such as NH, but are unable to marry in their
United Methodists churches and for the clergy who are put on trial
for choosing to go against the Discipline to marry them.
