Looking down at my hands

The words of Christ
the challenge to cast the first stone
only he was worthy
the one without sin

Looking down at my hands
unable to look in his face
dropping my stone to the ground
shame for my act

My unworthiness to judge
to stand in his shoes
to pretend I was God
not made of earth, of clay

Walking away
aware of my sin
wanting no part of this
wanting her to live
