We are still judging

Despite Christ’s teaching
of the perils of judging
of the sin of all people
separating us from God

We are still judging
claiming we are better
worthy when they are not
just for who they are

Forgetting so quickly
how recently
just being a woman
would have cast you out

How the color of your skin
was grounds for separation
defining different flocks
Keeping us apart
