Oh, Pray over me, Lord,
say unto my soul,
to my inward spirit,
“I am thy salvation,
your hope for eternal life…
 
Though my enemies may attack me,
though I struggle in this darkness…
Have mercy upon me, Lord,
remind me of Your nearness,
that You are as close as breath…
 
Oh, Say ever more powerfully,
“I am thy salvation”…
Draw me to You, Jesus,
Reconcile me to You…
Guide my stumbling steps…

whisper to me in the night - v2 #poetry #God #Christ #Spirit #regeneration #Psalm35

sing to my struggling heart,
Breathe Your peace within me,
whisper to me in the night,
when I feel far from You…
speak a prayer over me, Lord,
to calm my troubled spirit,
offer me greater touch,
how I long to be near…
 
do not forget me, Lord,
in my times of trial,
when I am wandering,
Say unto my soul,
“I am thy salvation”…
breathe that assurance
Your peace beyond understanding,
into me ever deeper…
 
grant me rest in my being,
within in my soul, my spirit,
a peace that I cannot comprehend,
even in seasons of betrayal
when my enemies attack…
Rest Your hand upon me, Lord,
Speak Your words of love over me,
oh, yes, be my salvation…

A pyrrhic victory,
A war of attrition,
A wasteland their prize…
The blood of the dead of Bucha,
of Kherson, of Pokrovsk, of Mariupol,
of Izium, of Irpin, of Odesa, of Kharkiv,
all the ancient cities they have destroyed…
 
A barren moonscape,
An empty land, no longer alive,
A people driven out, abandoned…
The wreckage of their terror, carnage,
of Rubizhne, of Vuhledar, of Chasiv Yar,
the heritage, the innocents, the buildings,
too many places to number, their awful prize…
 
A testament to their savagery,
A witness to our utter abject failure,
An accounting, “Never Again” is now…
The pyre of their dead in the fields, underfoot,
left to rot, abandoned in the black soil,
to feed sunflowers, growing, like phoenix,
to heal the land in time, once peace comes…
 
A place of death and ashes,
A wasteland that they created,
A testament to their depravity, cruelty,
their lust for lost empire, using genocide;
But this will not be the final verdict, victory
will rise over the Donbas, like a sunrise shining
over the people, the whole of Ukraine will be Ukraine…
