one million dead and wounded

a milestone marching toward oblivion
for the madness of the madman
one million dead and wounded
200, 300, marking that moment,
so many lives that he has ended
so much death and destruction
victims of his hubris, his madness,
their complicity in their own death…
 
too many innocent victims also,
allies reticent to act fully, helping,
unwittingly or wittingly aiding genocide,
horrors he has unleashed, pure evil,
stalking the center of Europe, Death,
the reaper with his scythe cutting,
one million dead and wounded,
the number growing each day….
 
a lust for empire, for destruction,
an unquenchable thirst for power,
the madman in the bunker seeking,
to bring more home to himself,
but the world is paying the price,
the victims of his arrogance, his terror,
a genocide against a nation-state,
and the destruction of his own people…

Saturated Believing – v9

Our bodies, our lives, soaked, filled,

dripping wet, drenched, overflowing,

like cloth prayer dolls, worn, tattered,

passed down through generations;

Immersed in the living waters

the promise of Your holy Word…

 

Living sacrifices, vessels, bodies,

each week, coming before You

entering into reverence, awe,

given in worship, to be filled;

Given for Your pleasure

for Your holy purpose…

Saturated believing, on fire,

filled with Pentecost flames,

not lukewarm in our coming,

In our sitting at Your feet;

We long to be filled by You Lord,

wet, drenched to overflowing…

uncomfortable and uncertain

uncomfortable and uncertain
pm the ragged edge of emotion
wanting so much to be loved
to not be alone but choosing poorly
my flesh going before me
when I long for clarity, one path,
that God has chosen for me…
 
In the crucible of introspection
of being open, brutally honest,
I feel God calling to me, whispering,
but I cannot make out the words
I must just choose to walk toward Him
to submit my body and will to Him
I just need to trust in God’s plan alone…

I chose to stay with her
though I knew that it was dirty
not the will of God
His plan for my life…
 
I wanted it to be holy
I wanted it to work
but God convicted me,
I had to push her out…
 
I had to let her go
for my own safety, my future,
a way was made for me,
God saved me in that moment…
 
Through my pain, my weeping,
God brought me to His presence,
a new door would open
but I held fast to my will…

the risk of enmity on me,
I am afraid of the pain
if they are torn from my body…
 
I am afraid of the pain
though I know it could be cathartic
I long to walk with You
to submit to You fully…
