the weight of that burden – v2

I know only in part
the weight of His burden
what Christ carried to the cross
to set me free…
 
I don’t remember
all the sin I have committed
He alone knows, can know,
my sin in the future…
 
I fear the awful knowledge
a revelation of that burden
what Christ carried to the cross
to set me free…
 
I dread fully knowing
the pain that He suffered
what Christ endured on the cross
for all the sin in my life…
 
I need to know fully,
for me to be freed completely
every sin I have committed
that was nailed to the cross…

the weight of that burden

I know only in part
the weight of that burden
what Christ carried to the cross
to set me free…

all power, all authority

a name greater than the angels

so is the name of Jesus, the Messiah,

the Son of the living God

a name forever

greater than the angels

all nations are at His feet

His Kingdom is without end.

That we might be spared

saved from drinking that cup

the bitter cup, Gethsemane

our poison to Christ’s lips.

The Son, the Messiah

by grace, His choice

Christ tasted death for everyone

to save us from the pit.

Sharing in our humanity
like us in every way
needing to be human
to break our fears, our chains
Knowing our temptations
preparing a way for us
becoming our high priest
becoming the sacrifice
Choosing to die, the cross
to redeem us from the lost
dying that we may live
paying the ultimate cost

The Christ, the Son
author of our salvation
perfect through suffering
the cross, the refiner’s fire
through the gate of death
revealing himself holy
preparing a way for us
that we may enter in
part of God’s family

The Radiance of God’s Glory

The Son, though human
revealing, appearing
the radiance of God’s glory
here on earth appearing
guiding us with his teaching
justifying with his healing
his sacrifice abiding
reconciling our brokenness
joining us with the Father
the Creator, I Am
binding us together
through his sacrifice, the cross

Love Complete

Like no other
Love complete
God fully known
if we could see this
in the coming of Jesus
down to the ground

Revealing all
God’s true nature
in the way he walked
humbly on the earth
come to save us

Love given flesh
walking among us
offering hope, redemption
life eternal
in humble service

we all may live.
